Elk Haven Retreat

Elk Haven is one of those rare properties that delivers precisely what its name promises: genuine wilderness privacy, combined with a lodge of real quality that makes extended stays entirely comfortable. Thirty-two acres of mountain land — meadow, forest, and the Elk Creek corridor — create a natural sanctuary that feels genuinely remote while remaining accessible year-round. The private fishing stream holds wild trout; a network of marked trails traverses the property through aspen and pine. The 3,600 sq ft lodge was constructed in 2015 with materials and techniques that honour the mountain vernacular — heavy timber framing, local stone, metal standing-seam roof — while providing insulation and systems appropriate for serious year-round use. Four bedroom suites, each with en-suite bathroom, provide accommodation for eight guests in real comfort. The great room's 28-foot stone fireplace is the natural centre of gravity after a day outdoors. The kitchen is fully appointed for serious cooking; the wraparound porch faces the meadow and the mountain beyond.
